After years volunteering alongside burn, trauma, and cancer teams, I knew something many people overlooked. Helping someone recognize themselves in the mirror again isn’t vanity. It can be part of healing.

My career began in the world of film and television, where the focus was on glamour, perfection, and creating flawless faces for the camera. But while the industry celebrated beauty, I found myself drawn to something much deeper.

It was never about makeup. It was always about the woman wearing it.

I’ll never forget the husband who hugged me because his wife finally felt confident enough to go out in public. Or the moment a cancer survivor looked in the mirror and, for the first time in a long time, recognized themselves. Those moments changed me.

Helping women recognize themselves again became my life’s work, and that purpose eventually inspired the creation of Sweet LeiLani Cosmetics. I didn’t set out to build another beauty brand. I set out to build a brand with purpose.
